Arc21 - How

The principle objective of arc21 is to reduce the amount of waste generated together with making the best use of the waste that is produced in an environmentally responsible manner. We will seek to use waste management practices that focus on reuse, recycling and waste recovery in preference to disposal.

The Waste Management Plan sets out proposals covering the period until 2020 aimed at meeting this objective. The original Waste Management Plan was produced in 2003 and was the subject of revision during 2006 with its contents determined by the Environment & Heritage Service on the 15th December 2006. It may be viewed here.

The 2006 revision of the Waste Management Plan was also the subject of a Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA), the contents of which may be viewed here.
