Arc21 - Why
arc21 can help solve what we do with the waste that we produce but the Councils can't do it on their own. We need your help! Everyone produces waste - nearly one and a half tonnes of waste is thrown out by each household in the Eastern Region, amounting to over half a million tonnes of waste each year. Businesses in the Eastern Region throw out the same again. That's nearly a million tonnes of waste to be dealt with!
The arc21 solution requires householders and businesses to look at the waste they produce and think about ways that it can be reduced, reused or recycled. arc21 will be providing a broad ranging programme of advice on how to do this. We will also be providing practical things to help like extra bins, a collection of waste that can be recycled and lots of new recycling centres.
